In our lives, each of us shared an important connection with someone who broadened our horizons and brought a little magic into our lives.
It was the person who taught you to throw that perfect spiral, or sat in the front row to cheer you on, even when it was embarrassing. These are the little moments that Big Brothers and Big Sisters experience every day.
Although Edward and Jeffrey aren’t technically family, that is how they describe their relationship as Big Brother and Little Brother. Jeffrey’s friendship with Ed started out long before they were matched. Jeffrey was matched with a wonderful Big Sister who is a very close friend to Ed- almost like family. Upon introducing Jeffrey to Ed, they immediately realized that they would make a great pair. Jeffrey’s Big Sister was matched with another Little Sister, while Ed became a Big Brother so he and Jeffrey could begin forging an incredible bond as Big Brother and Little Brother.
Jeffrey looks up to Ed as a brother who he can depend on. Ed admits that he wishes he was as considerate and resilient as Jeffery is at his age, and is happy to have the opportunity to spend time with Jeffrey and learn from each other.
Both enjoy many fun activities together such as paintballing, Red Sox games, deep sea fishing, movies, and Canobie Lake Park. Jeffrey also spends time with Ed’s family, walks Ed’s baby in the stroller and attended a wedding as Ed’s guest. Jeffrey feels that he is a part of Ed’s life and truly is his Little Brother.
